Accountant

You must possess excellent organizational skills and truly enjoy crunching and analyzing numbers with the ability to explain those numbers to management. An Accounting related degree is required as well as proficiency in Quickbooks and Excel. Aside from the day to day duties, you must have a can-do attitude and work well with others. We do not micro-manage our employees, so you must be a self-starter and highly motivated to show management you can and will get the job done. This job is full-time from 8:00 am to 5:00 pm at $11.00 – $15.00 per hour commensurate with experience.

Accountant Job Duties include but are not limited to:

  • Prepares asset, liability, and capital account entries by compiling and analyzing account information
  • Prepares special financial reports by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing account information and trends
  • Recommends financial actions by analyzing accounting options
  • Maintains accounting controls by preparing and recommending policies and procedures
  • Complies with federal, state, and local financial legal requirements by studying existing and new legislation, enforcing adherence to requirements, and advising management on needed actions
  • Answers accounting procedure questions by researching and interpreting accounting policy and regulations
  • Maintains customer confidence and protects operations by keeping financial information confidential
  • Secures financial information by completing database backups
  • Summarizes current financial status by collecting information; preparing a balance sheet, profit and loss statement, cash flow, budgets and other reports
  • Conduct month-end and year-end close process
  • Setting invoices up for payment and prepares payments by verifying documentation, and requesting disbursements
  • Posts transactions to journals and general ledgers
  • Reconcile accounts payable transactions
  • Monitor accounts to ensure payments are up to date
  • Research and resolve invoice discrepancies and issues
  • Maintain vendor files
  • Correspond with vendors and customers
  • Provide support documentation for audits
  • Generate and send out invoices
  • Review AR aging to ensure compliance
  • Maintain accounts receivable customer files and records
  • Post customer payments by recording cash, checks and credit card transactions
  • Process bank deposits and process adjustments
  • Heavy Data Entry
  • Willingness to learn new software programs
  • Assist in other administrative functions as needed
